Scoremet was founded on an uncompromising principle: a product review is worthless unless every score is backed by measurable metrics. We reject subjective affiliate opinions, AI-generated summary articles, and sponsored ranking manipulation.

1 Data Collection & Source Traceability

Every specification, claim, and measurement on Scoremet links directly to a verified source record in our evidence graph. We categorize sources into distinct tiers:

  • Manufacturer Specifications: Direct engineering spec sheets, operating manuals, and technical documentation from manufacturers (DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, Bosch, Ryobi).
  • Independent Laboratory & Bench Tests: Objective dynamometer data, teardown analyses, and torture testing from reputable evaluators (UL certifications, Project Farm, Pro Tool Reviews).
  • Verified Retailer Telemetry: Live availability, price histories, and warranty registration records across authorized distributors.

2 Mathematical Unit Normalization & Conflict Detection

Manufacturers frequently publish specifications in incompatible units (in-lbs vs. Nm, bare tool lbs vs. kit kg, UWO vs. torque). We normalize all attributes mathematically while storing the unedited raw excerpt in our database.

When multiple authorized sources report contradictory specs, our automated conflict resolver flags the discrepancy:

We never silently overwrite conflicting data or let AI hallucinate the difference.

Deterministic Formula: Scoremet Score = (Performance × 0.30) + (Durability × 0.20) + (Value × 0.20) + (User Satisfaction × 0.20) + (Reliability × 0.10). The resulting score ranges from 0 to 100, providing granular distinction without subjective inflation.

4 What We Have Measured vs. Preliminary Benchmarks

Scoremet does not fabricate testing claims or feign hands-on ownership.

• If a specification has not yet undergone direct physical measurement, our system flags it transparently as "Sourced from Manufacturer Engineering Documentation — Not independently measured by Scoremet."

• Bench measurements (dynamometer torque rigs, thermal imaging, vibration sensors) are tagged as Scoremet_verified only when physically conducted according to standard operating protocols.

5 Editorial Independence & Monetization

Scoremet earns affiliate commissions from authorized retailers (Amazon, The Home Depot, Lowe's, Acme Tools) when readers click through to buy.

Affiliate commissions never influence product scores, rankings, or recommendations. The scoring algorithms run deterministically on mathematical formulas in code. A brand offering a higher commission rate cannot buy a higher score or displace a superior product in our head-to-head comparisons.
